Philanthropy in Diverse Communities

Please join us at the October AFP lunch to learn about philanthropy among the African American, Hispanic and LGBT communities.  Three panelists, with the help of a very special moderator, will share with us typical giving patterns, explore philanthropic traditions, what motivates these groups to make donations, as well as offer suggestions / recommendations for organizations on how to best develop relationships within these communities.  Our members and guests will also learn the best ways to communicate and engage with each group in order to build deeper relationships.  Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get up close and personal with these key minority populations of the Tampa Bay community.

PANELISTS:

Michael Slaymaker, MAHR, Vice President of Development & Planned Giving, Easter Seals Florida, Inc. in Winter Park, FL

Dr. Bennie Small, NAACP Hillsborough County Branch President, Tampa, FL

Michael Herrera, Project Management and Fundraising Consultant, Tampa/St. Pete, FL

Moderator: Brendan McLaughlin, ABC Action News
